Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a boating license to rent?
In British Columbia, you need a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) to operate a motorized boat. If you don't have one, you can obtain it online before your rental. We also offer a brief safety orientation before every rental.
What's included in the rental price?
All rentals include the boat, all required safety equipment (life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc.), and a safety orientation. Fuel and taxes are calculated separately based on usage for every rental.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 48+ hours before your rental receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24-48 hours receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. Weather-related cancellations always receive a full refund or free rescheduling.
What if the weather is bad on my rental day?
Safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe for boating, we'll contact you to reschedule at no charge or provide a full refund. Light rain doesn't typically affect rentals, but high winds or storms will.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance during peak season (June-August), as our boats fill up quickly. Off-season bookings can often be made with shorter notice.
Can I bring food and drinks on the boat?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring snacks, picnic lunches, and beverages. Many of our boats have built-in coolers. Please note that glass containers are not permitted on any of our boats for safety reasons.
